Seapark's Nasi Lemak

This is Seapark famous Nasi Lemak.

My friend took me here a couple of times before..However, when it comes going there yourself,it took me almost an hour of rounding and rounding with a rumbling stomach. GOODNESS gracious how I thank the lord when I finally found the place in the end - without a map, and without a GPS or SIGN BOARDS.

Located just next to Maybank at Petaling Jaya’s Seapark (SS21), this Mamak stall opens throughout the night. The stall is located within the vicinity of a chinese coffee shop (closed of course during the night) shared with another BKT (Bak Kut Teh) stall. Side by side, these two stalls must be millionaires with the amount of profits earned every night.

The BKT is quite nice, better than Jln Ipoh but nothing compared to Klang's BKT. BKT uncle is quite friendly- you can speak Hokkien, Cantonese, Mandarin,Malay and even English with him. Super multilingual uncle. But I don't have any BKT picture to post here..so maybe next time :)

Back to the nasi lemak - its not too bad. "Ayam Goreng" is yummy ( provided it's still hot) and I think the secret ingredient is the spice added in the flour. Taste bit of Muruku spice (if you get what I mean).

I tried a few nasi lemak with their 'ayam goreng', I have to say Mahbub's 'Ayam Goreng' is still the best. Seapark 'Nasi Lemak' is however better than Mahbub, with strong santan aroma. Fried egg, definately Seaparks' is the winner also. Drinks? - Seaparks' as well.

Suprisingly, Seapark Nasi Lemak is not specialized with their nasi lemak. The Ah Neh said it's their "Maggi Mee Goreng" that is famous. Really?

Verdict : So-so

The winner for best Maggi Mee Goreng ( with telur goreng) is a mamak located in Puchong. Show a picture next time :)

Dancing Fish

Dancing Fish, located on the upper floors of Bangsar Shopping Complex (BSC) serves mainly Indo-Bali food. They also serve Malay Kampung Food as well as some Malaysian food influence.

Obviously, they are famous for their 'Dancing Fish' and if you wonder how a fish looked like 'dancing', see below:

*Dancing Fish is actually Fried Kam Fung Yee....zzz...

We ordered quite alot, since most of the portion is quite small.I like mainly their meat dishes while I dislike most of their vege dishes. It's bit too oily or rich for my liking.

Table snacks:

Kerepek Belinjau - Origin from Indonesia and its quite awesome. I remembered it was introduced to the Malaysian market not too long ago and I quite like eating it as it gives a bitter aftertaste..or everyone's mouth is just itchy waiting for their food to come.

Food is here.

I call this Indo version of Ying-Yang rice.

Typical malay veggie dish -Never touch (the smell is too empowering).

Duck ?

Piramid taufu

 Sweet chick

Desserts:

Boss say G.O.O.D!

 Good too (rojak)

Good but picture just seem so wrong

I find Dancing Fish is overall quite a good dining place. The place is usually packed for dinner- DAILY...so it has to be awesome for others. Definitely a recommended place to bring a Muslim friend for makan-makan (belanja) ;)

Pineapple Tarts

How to make one (or 100 pieces) of Pinaapple Tarts:

1) Always have your recipe beside you.

It is your food bible until you mastered it. Unless you're born to be a chef or worked gazillion years as one, don't bother having a recipe.

2) Prepare your ingredients (with snacks) :p

Since it's a 'sweet' food category here, it's advisable to have something 'salty' to bite along the way. Vice versa, have something 'sweet' if you're preparing something in the 'salty' food category.

 3) Mix abit of everything...slowy

Cookies or Tarts - definitely easier to be prepared as we don't need to worry about getting 'air' in the flour. As long you got a soft dough,it's good to go. Making cookies or tarts is however never been my cup of tea when it comes to baking, as you need to shape each and every piece beforehand!!

Unlike cakes, mixing has to be extremely disciplined - but the baking is much easier: Mix, Pour and Bake.

Horrible part - even out your dough to bout half cm thick and play 'stamping'. Repeat 100x.

 The base

Why you need to precise with the dough thickness:

*If your dough is too thin, you will not get any shape
*If its too thick, the dough is going to spill out everywhere like lava

So get your shapes right!

Ready to go into the oven

We're lazy humans- just use ready made pineapple paste.

* for gloss, you can coat it with egg yolk. NEVER use whole egg as egg whites will make your cookies or tarts look 'tanned' (show you later...)

'Sunbathing' in the oven

Looks like a California Tanned Tarts. Otherwise success!

Others:
Since the oven is heated up, we might as well make more dishes..(maybe got a little carried away) :p

I <3 Bruschetta

World laziest way to cook curly fries - but you know what, it's quite good (yes, without oil)

Herbs Chicken - Not bad

We made starters and desserts as well..

Mushroom soup with excessive portobello mushrooms

Ceaser's Salad - The instant aka lazy way

*Improvised version caramel custard*

We mixed in both sauce and caramel base so we do not waste the sauce. Taste just as great and the sweetness blended in evenly.

Last but not least....

Pack it like you gonna do big profitable business! :p

Fat Boy Burger

Spoiler...

Before I begin, "Fat Boy Burger" is not as "Fat" as in sounds :p

Located beside San Francisco Coffee in Publika, I never notice a burger place til the day I walked pass the stage area where Yuna was rehearsing for Earth Hour. The coffee aroma was enticing for tea time but Fat Boy Burger was..well, just sound more yummy (ok, no relevance what I am blabbing here)

The bun was special (Sesame & Grain something)
I believe this would be a guy's favourite with all the bacon and meat in it.

*We were really hungry that day... In our mind, the burger was just "Meat" and "Bun".

This would be the girl's favourite...
There's peanut butter, banana and burger patty apart from the ok-ok fries

Overall, it was good, wouldn't say awesome nor bad. Size was just right too even for the guys.
But having Fat Boy Burger made me want to try Ninja Joe Burger soon :)

S.Wine the Pig

S.Wine Cafe, located within the vicinity of B.I.G (Ben's Independent Grocers) open it's doors about a month or two back at Publika. It reminds me of Euro Deli or Opus Bangsar, but with Asian influence.

Le Entrance

Black Pig of the family

Interior - while waiting for our food

I need to say the place smells no different than a butcher's shop. It might be hard for some to stand the smell, especially vegetarians or those with sensitive appetite. However, the food did not disappoint us.

 Le Meal

Starters - Watermelon, Lychee, Nuts, Mint, Leaves and Leaves
AWESOME! EUPHORIA!~

Great place for PORK LOVERS!
